Episode Title: "Friendly Fire"
Original Air Date: 02/11/2003
Newly appointed JAG Judge Rabb hears the high-profile case of a U.S. pilot involved in the accidental bombing of British troops in Afghanistan while Mac prosecutes. Mac's fear for her case is two-fold: one, that Harm might try to get back at her for perceived slights when their roles were reversed in a recent case and, two, that Harm's background as a fighter pilot might play in favor of the defendant. Adding to the tension in the courtroom is the Secretary of the Navy's pressure to convict, which makes his political concerns readily apparent.
Political commentator Bill O'Reilly makes a cameo appearance as himself.
Writer: Paul Levine
Director: Kenneth JohnsonSynopsis: Mac prosecutes a case with high political stakes involving a Navy pilot charged with manslaughter after bombing British troops in Afghanistan. With public opinion and the court's ruling favoring the pilot, Mac claims bias and seeks to remove the judge -- Commander Harmon Rabb, Jr.
Harm sits on the bench as Mac prosecutes a pilot (Gabriel Olds) who accidentally dropped a bomb on British troops, killing three soldiers, but Mac fumes over Harm's seemingly impartial judgments, and Harm is pressured by the SECNAV (Dean Stockwell) who makes it clear he wants a conviction to placate the British. Bill O'Reilly has a cameo. Lt. Whitehall: Harry Van Gorkum. PO Coates: Zoe McLellan.
Cast: David James Elliott, Catherine Bell, John M. Jackson, Patrick Labyorteaux, Karri Turner, Zoe McLellan, Dean Stockwell, Gabriel Olds, Harry Van Gorkum, Bill O'Reilly
